John Lacy

Born on the fourth of July in 1943 - which makes me 70 years old, retired since 2007 and living in Horsforth, Leeds. Was gainfully employed in a variety of ways : Methodist Minister until 1984, then a Family Counsellor and Psychotherapist and finally, for 8 years, worked in the Probation Service.

My dad took me to my first game at Bootham Crescent in 1950, when it cost 9d (old money) to get in at the "Boys" entrance, and I've been hooked ever since despite not having lived in York since 1963.

I'm a Pop Stand season ticket holder since 1973 and am usually accompanied to games, home and away, by my son Simon. Until his death in 2003, my dad was also a season ticket holder and Trust member, and before that my grandad supported the Club back in the Fulfordgate days. So YCFC is in the blood.

The least I can do to say "thank you" for all the pleasure (and heartache) the Lacy generations have experienced as City fans is to give something back to the club - hence my commitment to the important work of the York City Supporters Trust.
