YCST Making Early Progress

City fans rally to the cause

Its just seven weeks since the initial public meeting to launch the idea of a York City Supporters' Trust and just three weeks since the Trust was officially formed.

A group of about thirty five City supporters have helped to drive the efforts to form the Trust, save York City and secure representation for supporters in the future ownership and operation of the Club. In addition, a huge number of other City fans have rallied to the cause and performed a huge amount of positive work to maintain the momentum. Thanks goes to all these people.

This positive action and support is what will save OUR Club and help provide the new York City with a brighter future. A Club that embraces its relationships with the supporters, the community, the Council, local schools and businesses.

Throughout the last few weeks the Working Party and the Trust have communicated all significant developments on a regular basis. This communications strategy will be further developed in the future as the Trust's membership base is established and the supporters have a real voice in the running of the Club.

Here's what we've been doing to on the communications front:

- Regular media statements communicated in particular through the Evening Press, who have been very supportive throughout the campaign. There's been an almost daily diet of news on the Save City campaign.

- Radio interviews and phone-ins through BBC Radio York and MinsterFM.

- has been established and is regularly updated.

- Two public meetings - firstly to launch the idea of the Trust and then the successful launch event itself at the Barbican on 1 February. The Trust will hold its Annual General Meeting (for members) in May.

- A newsletter and communication service to all those people who have registered on our website. This will be further developed in due course as the membership database is completed. We have a database of City supporters, something the Club has never had.

- Messages through Arthur and Red and Blue net.

- There are plans for a newsletter to all members, not just those on email.

- One-to-one communication between Working Party members and fellow supporters.

- Plans for an interactive web based question and answers session.
