Young Walkers Raise 390
Young Walkers Raise 390

Sponsored walk boosts YCST coffers

Two young supporters Neil Hunter (13) and Clare Leetham (15), both pupils at Howden School, have raised over 390 for the Trust following a sponsored walk.

The original idea was Clare's, a Spurs fan, who has been attending City matches since the future of the club was thrown into turmoil. Clare worked together with Neil, a season ticket holder and supporter since the age of 6.

The pair walked from Howden to Goole and then back again after gaining sponsorship from many local people.

The proceeds were handed to Trust Committee member Mike Brown last week.

Mike commented, "I received an email out of the blue from Neil's father Andrew. I was delighted to hear that two youngsters have shown such initiative, managing to raise such a sizeable sum of money. This just goes to show how the community can work together to achieve a common goal. A huge thanks goes out to Neil and Clare for their efforts."
