28th Feb - Trust AGM and Q&A with Billy & Manny
28th Feb - Trust AGM and Q&A with Billy & Manny

Please come along on the evening of 28th Feb

All Trust Members should, by now, have received their letter about the AGM at the end of this month (click on link below to download a copy). If any Trust Member has not yet received their letter, please write or email (enquiries@ycst.org.uk) with your membership and address details.

As announced previously, the Trusts fifth AGM will be on the evening of Wednesday 28th February, at the York City Social Club The AGM will be immediately followed by a Fans Forum. Billy McEwan and Manny Panther have kindly accepted an invitation to take part in a Q&A session. We hope to see many City supporters attending for what we hope will be both an interesting and enjoyable evening (in addition to the few business formalities).

Four City supporters have been nominated for election to the Trust Board. As there were up to five positions available this time round, theres no need for a postal ballot of members this year. The four volunteers to be appointed to the Trust Board are:

David Brewis to be elected to the Trust Board for the first time

Simon Mallett also to be elected to the Trust Board for the first time, although Simon was one of the original Save City Committee volunteers in 2002

Sophie McGill standing for re-election this year, and also a Club Director

Peter Rookes standing for re-election this year

David and Simon are two of the five Trust members which also included Graham Bradbury, Michael Oglesby and Malcolm Slinger - who volunteered to serve on the Trust Board back in April 2006 as temporary appointments. After the AGM, David and Simon will now join the Trust Board as elected members. Under the Trusts rules, existing Trust Board members Sophie and Peter were required to stand down by rotation, but have decided to volunteer to serve again. Paul Rawnsley was also required to stand down by rotation, but after five years of involvement in the City saga he has decided not to be nominated for re-appointment to the Trust Board.

Prior to the recent nominations process, following consultation with Supporters Direct (the central body that oversees the operation of all trusts in the UK) it was decided to put to the members a resolution to change the Trusts Rules to reduce the required number of Trust Board Members in the future. Details of the resolution are contained in the letter to members, who are able to vote on the rule change.

Separately, the Trust is also seeking a volunteer for the Trust Secretary role. As reported previously, Stan Collins is hanging up his (trust secretary) boots. Stan was involved in the formation of Citys Trust and we are hugely grateful for the time and commitment he has invested over the past 5 years. The new Trust Secretary does not need to be an elected Board member, so were looking for a volunteer who can attend the regular Trust Board meetings and help fulfil the Trusts rules and obligations. If you are interested in helping out, please get in touch - please write or email or contact Trust Chair Steve Beck or any other Board Member.

If theres anything further you think you can do to help refresh and take forward the Trust in 2007 and beyond, please do get in touch. We would be really grateful for any help and assistance you can provide.
