Update about SGM
Update about SGM

As announced previously, the Trust Board is working towards calling a special general meeting for members within the next few weeks. At that meeting, proposals in respect of the financing, management & ownership for the future of the Club will be put to the Trust's members, for the members to decide the appropriate way forward. Over the past couple of months, the Trust Board has been considering alternative options and now has a workable proposal from JM Packaging Limited for the future financing and management of the Club. The Trust is now undertaking the work required to confirm the meeting arrangements (the date will be communicated as soon as is practically possible) and to provide detailed information to the Trust's Members about the financing proposals, including potential alternatives considered, how the situation has been arrived at, other matters, and what Trust members need to do. At this stage, it is planned to provide the information to members on or around 20 May.

Amongst the potential alternative financing arrangements considered was information provided by Mike Grant (until recently a Trust Board member) in respect of the possibility of an interest bearing secured loan to the Club from a group comprising some of the directors of the company/group which employs Mike Grant. The details of that potential proposal will be included within the pack of information to go to Trust Members in due course, albeit the information does not provide the basis for a workable financing and management proposal for the future of the Club.

In response to the recent invitation for members to volunteer for consideration for temporary appointment as a Trust Board member, the Trust has been pleased to receive six expressions of interest. These six individuals are now being contacted. When temporary appointments are made the details will be communicated to members. Any volunteer appointed to fill a vacancy will be required to retire at the next Annual General Meeting, but may then stand for election along with any other Trust Member at that time.
