Fans Hit the Road for YCST

A group of York City fans are stepping forward quite literally to help raise funds for the recently formed York City Supporters Trust

Nick Gonsalves and nine fellow supporters are set to complete a 32-mile sponsored walk ahead of the City's home game against Hartlepool United on February 16th 2002.

The mini Red Army will set off from the White Horse at Kilburn on Friday February 15th and plan to arrive at the White Horse Public House, Bootham, the following day in time to reach Bootham Crescent for kick-off.

Gonsalves, who planned the event said, "We are all loyal City fans and hope our efforts will raise as much money as possible for the Trust. Everyone is looking forward to the walk, it will be daunting, but well worth it."

Anyone wishing to sponsor the group can contact Nick on 01904 410414 or alternatively, sponsorship, forms are available from the York City Club Shop.

Another sponsored walk was organised by the family and friends of City Supporter and Trust member Andrew Hunter. Mr Hunter's son and a friend's daughter successfully completed a walk from Howden to Goole and back to Howden last weekend with over 350 already collected.
