Supporters stand for City

Five City Supporters have ben nominated to stand for election to the Trust Board, with four elected positions "up for grabs". An election will take place by postal ballot ahead of the Trust's AGM on 15th December.  The Trust's 1,200 members will now be able to exercise their vote for who they want to represent them on City's Trust, the body that has ownership and oversight of the Football lub.

Trust Secretary Stan Collins comented "In many ways, York City relies on the efforts of volunteers and the important role of the Trust Board is one such way.  Whilst itv will be more work over the next month or so for our volunteers an the independent Election Working Group, we're pleased that there are sufficient nominations to provide our members with the ability to exercise their voting power."

The five nominations are:

     * David Cocker - currently a co-opted member of the Trust Board.

     * Ian Hey - currently a co-opted member of the Trust Board.

     * Kirsten Ovenden - standing for re-election this year.

     * Mike Shannon - standing for re-election this year.

     * Ian Tyssen - a very active fundraiser for York City, standing for election to the Trust Board for the first time.

Existing Trust Board member Graham Kilby has decided not to stand for re-election to the Trust Board, although he will continue his voluntary work for York City in respect of the long running Youth Development Fund.

Within the next couple of weeks, the Trust will be distributing information about the AGM and the election to its members. The election process will be overseen by the EWG and will be conducted in accordance with the Trust's published Election Rules.
