Nominations for Trust Board positions - by 28th Oct 05

There is the opportunity for every eligible member to stand for election to the Trust Board and/or to vote.  When this years elections take place (by postal ballot in November/December), Trust members will be electing four supporters to the Trust Board.  In accordance with the Trusts Rules, the following Trust Board members :  Kirsten Ovenden (nee Gillies), Graham Kilby and Michael Shannon - will resign their position and each of them can, if they choose, stand for re-election. David Potter has resigned from the Board earlier this year due to other commitments.

Every eligible member has the opportunity to stand for election (for 3 years) to the Trust Board.  If you are:

  • Aged over 16 years and a member of the Supporters Trust as at 30 September 2005;

  • Willing and able to attend regular Trust Board meetings;

  • Willing and able to contribute constructively and positively to achieve the aims of the Trust and support the business of running York City; and

  • Can get 3 other Trust members to nominate you;

then you should consider standing for election for one of the four vacant positions.

Please do consider if you can be actively involved in leading the operations of the Trust.  The Trust needs your support.  The Trust could particularly benefit from contributors to fundraising efforts, communications, the treasurer role and people with general business experience.  In due course, membership of the Trust Board may also provide an opportunity for you to be a director of York City Football Club itself.  If you would like to discuss in more detail the role and requirements of being a Trust Board director, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

An Elections Working Group (independent of the Trust Board) is overseeing the running of the election in accordance with the Election Rules
