New information desk in Club Shop
New information desk in Club Shop

Working for City

As some folk will already be aware, the Trust now has an information desk in the revamped Club Shop.  The information desk will be staffed by a Trust Board member before and after each home match this season - together with representatives from the York Minstermen.  It is another way in which the Trust seeks to communicate with members and other supporters.  Please make use of the new facility for any Trust enquiries, membership matters, fundraising ideas, etc.  The Trusts website and enquiry facility ( also remains available and is used by many people each month.

I'm sure that many of you will have already noticed the new Information Desk in the Club Shop, which is being used as a contact point for the Trust, the Supporters Club and York Minstermen. As at all home games, before and after the Cambridge United game on Friday night, I will be available at the desk for anyone who has any enquiries regarding York Minstermen events, travel or membership. Here are a few reasons to visit the desk at this week's game . . .

- to become a member of York Minstermen for the 2005/6 season at a cost of 5 for adults and 2 for juniors. Also, don't forget to become a member of the Trust.

- to order and pay for a Manchester United v York City DVD (the 3-0 win at Old Trafford!). All profits from this DVD, priced at 12 each, will be passed on to the Youth Development Fund. This is another of Phil Howden's excellent productions.

- to collect an envelope of Summer Raffle tickets to sell to your friends, workmates and families. Please help yourself from the pile of envelopes on the desk and try to sell some. If you can't sell them, don't worry, as we have plenty of spare raffle tickets. Ticket sales so far have reached 1,700 but there is still plenty of time to improve on that figure before the draw in the Social Club on 26th September.

- to book and pay for a seat on the York Minstermen coach to Forest Green Rovers on 10th September. 17 for members and 20 for non members. Alternatively, see Frank in the Social Club, e-mail or phone 07956 237 270.

- to join the new Monthly Draw for just one month or as a regular entry. It costs 5 per month to enter and the prize is 50% of the entry fees (guaranteed to be at least 75). Many people have paid in advance for several months or have set up standing orders to eliminate the hassle out of paying for their entry. The winner will be drawn at each month's "Evening with ....." event in the Social Club (where you will also be able to enter on the night) and announced on the York Minstermen website. The 'profit' will be passed on to the Trust.

- if you have any suggestions of guests you would like to see at the "Evening with ...." event in the Social Club, ideas for fundraising events or would like to volunteer your services for bar work or to assist with fundraising. York Minstermen encourage the involvement of all City fans in their efforts to galvanise support and fundraise for our football club.

All cheques should be payable to "York Minstermen". Apart from some specific fundraising events for the York City Football Club or the Youth Development Fund, all money raised by York Minstermen is donated to the York City Supporters' Trust.
