New away shirt and new club sponsor
New away shirt and new club sponsor

Club Press Release

York City Football Club today announced international packaging manufacturer CLP Industries Ltd is to be the clubs new main sponsor this season, with their company logo set to appear on both home and away shirts.

The sponsorship deal has generated significant income for York City, which will help to boost club funds for the forthcoming season. The deal is for one year, with an option to continue next season.

In exchange for their sponsorship, CLP Industries Ltd is set to have advertising boards around the ground, the use of one of the clubs hospitality suites for certain matches throughout the year and also programme advertising.

Commenting on the new sponsorship deal Commercial Director Pete Davis said, This is a great deal for York City and we would like to thank CLP Industries Ltd for their support and hope they enjoy the experience of being the clubs main sponsor. Our aim at the Club is to ensure all sponsors get a real return on their investment by working with York City. Our thanks also go to Phoenix Software who has supported us over the past two seasons.

CLP Industries Ltd Marketing Manager Limor Schaffer said, We are delighted to be sponsoring York City this season. We are an international packaging manufacturer with offices in Israel, Russia, South Africa and the United States. The deal gives us the opportunity to gain a greater presence in the UK where we have a number of customers including Tesco, Sainsburys, and Marks and Spencer.

Limor Schaffer added, We recognise York City is a community club and we are looking forward to experiencing real, English grassroots football.

CLP Industries Ltd was introduced to York City by Malton based firm J M Packaging Ltd. Representatives from CLP Industries had visited the Club and were keen to get involved and show support.

York City Football Club today also launched their new away kit which is navy blue in colour, and available for purchase from the Club Shop for the first time before Saturdays home friendly against Hartlepool.

City newcomers, Mark Hotte and Clayton Donaldson were the first players to get the chance to model the kit. The new kit will then be worn by the rest of the team for the clubs remaining away pre-season fixtures.

Commenting on the new shirt, Commercial Assistant Louise Jackson said, We hope supporters like the new shirt. Navy blue is a great colour for leisure wear and goes really well with jeans. Like all Nike sportswear it is great quality and we hope it sells well.
