City face transfer shock

Transfer window introduced into non-League football

Billy McEwan has got just 11 weeks to assemble a fully functioning squad before his dealing hands are tied by the first ever transfer window in non-League football.

Conference clubs were dealt a blow this week with the news that all players transactions will be frozen from August 31st to January 1st in line with the rest of the Football League. This follows a mandatory ruling by FIFA and could spell trouble for Clubs on a small budget like City who have often been forced to rely on short term fixes during injury and relegation fears.  Finance Director Terry Doyle said "I think we share the disappointment of al clubs in our division at this news, although only time will tell how it actually has an impact on the way we do things.  We are not entirely sure how it will impact on non-contract players but that's just one thing we will have to learn" The ruling does not apply to Conference North and South.
