YORK CITY FOOTBALL CLUB

MEDIA RELEASE

TUESDAY 17TH MAY 2005

BILLY WRITES TO THE FANS

York City season ticket holders are set for a surprise this week when they will receive a letter asking them to renew their season tickets next season personally signed by Manager, Billy McEwan.

The York City boss has been working hard over the past few days, signing over 900 letters to try to encourage existing season ticket holders to sign up next season.

Billy McEwan said, The Club needs as much support as possible next season and I felt it would show our fans how much we appreciate them if I personally signed every letter that goes out.

McEwan added, It has taken a lot of time and I know it would be easier to scan my signature, but hopefully this personal touch will help to encourage our fans to sign up next season and join us on the journey.

This unprecedented move shows the Clubs commitment to its long standing, loyal supporters.

The letter will arrive on doorsteps later this week with a newly designed season ticket application form listing the benefits and discounts season ticket holders will receive.

The form will also have statements and photos of supporters representing different areas of the ground who have already confirmed they will renew.

The Club today stated there will be no season ticket or day admission increase this year and that prices will remain static with the introduction of new offers to encourage more families and juniors. In order to obtain the best price offers fans are requested to renew before 4th July.

29 SEASON TICKETS FOR UNDER 12s

York City Football Club today announced they will be introducing a 29 season ticket for under 12s next season.

The move has been made to try to encourage the next generation of support to watch live football at KitKat Crescent and to make the match day experience more affordable for young families.

Communications and community director Sophie McGill said, We wanted to offer a really affordable season ticket for under 12s and thought that 29 was a very competitive price. It works out only 1.38 per match and is cheap enough to buy as a birthday or Christmas gift.

McGill added, We realise we have an aging fan base and this is a radical step to try to rectify this problem. We are confident the scheme will be a great success.

The Club have also introduced new family tickets and are offering special group rates for schools, youth groups and junior sports clubs.
