Fundraising meeting on 15th February
Fundraising meeting on 15th February

Citys Trust is appealing to supporters to help raise further funds for the Club over the next year to help provide the basis for York City to challenge for promotion back to the Football League.  The Trust will be holding a public meeting in the York City Social Club on Tuesday 15th February at 7.30pm for anyone with fundraising ideas to come along and help build on the fundraising successes of the past.

Trust Chairman Richard Snowball said. We all want to help York City regain its place in the Football League and fundraising activity by supporters continues to provide a vital source of income for the Club.  The more money that can be raised, the better chance of getting together a York City Team to do us proud over the next year or so.

Even in the last year or so, when most of the results on the pitch have been awful, the fundraising efforts have been sustained, albeit by a dwindling group of volunteers.  We now want to build on the efforts and success of the past to help generate further funds for the future of our Club.  Most supporters understand and appreciate that finances for clubs in the Conference are very tight and, given the recent history, York Citys financial situation is more challenging than most others.

The public meeting provides an opportunity for people to share their ideas and, even better, get involved to put fundraising ideas into action said Kirsten Gillies, who heads the Trusts fundraising team.  We really need people to implement ideas to raise money and we need to generate more use of our Social Club. Were all in this together; the supporters and the Trust as owners, the Club Directors who manage the business, the various supporter groups around the county and country, the Youth Development Fund, the Lottery team and so on.  We want everyone to pull together and aim to generate even more fundraising for York City over the next year.

Anyone unable to attend the meeting who wants their ideas to be aired can write to the Trust or send an email to

The meeting on Tuesday 15th February is open to all City fans in fact to anybody who wants to help the doors and bar will open from 7pm.
