1,950 voters for Trust Board elections

1,950 people will be able to vote in the upcoming elections for Citys Trust Board. That is the total of the Trusts current membership list and City fans are now being invited to step forward for election to represent the supporters and the community in the running of the new York City Football Club.

Any Trust member who wants to serve on the Trust Board now has until the end of October to submit their nomination. Nomination Forms are available on request from Bootham Crescent or via the Trusts website at www.ycst.org.uk. There are four Trust Board positions up for election and the results will be announced at the AGM on 17th December.

Trust Secretary Stan Collins commented:
Citys Trust is probably the best supported Trust in the country. Last time we had a 65% turnout by the members and well be hoping to at least match that again this year.

Collins added:
The Trust Board represents the supporters and the community, working to further develop York City at the heart of the community.

An Elections Working Group is overseeing the election process and the independent Electoral Reform Services will carry out the voting process.

If you add to the 1,950 members over 350 Junior Reds, who are also affiliated members of the Trust, Trust membership is equivalent to over two-thirds of York Citys typical home attendance. That makes it, probably, the best supported trust in the country.

Trust membership has grown by almost 40% since the time of the Trusts first AGM and elections in June 2002. Included within the total is an impressive figure of 394 Life Members.

The membership list also has the somewhat bizarre inclusions of York City supporting Mollie the Cat and Bruno the Dog.
