Open Day on Sunday 25th July

Bootham the heart of the community

Sunday 25th July will see York City Football Club open its doors to the general public for its annual Open Day. The event will commence at midday and draw to a close at 3.00pm, with free admission for both adults and juniors.

Supporters and local people will be able to get a rare glimpse behind the scenes at the Club and enjoy a day of family fun at Bootham Crescent.

The first team squad, including Citys new summer signings, will be attending the event and supporters will have a unique chance to meet and be photographed with their favourite players.

The Open Day will also give fans the first opportunity to buy the Clubs new home shirt which will be on sale in the Club Shop. The shirt will be worn by the team at their home game against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday, but will not be on sale until the following day.

Tours of the ground including a rare chance to see inside Citys home and away dressing rooms and the Boardroom will be conducted by ex-players Derek Hood, Andy McMillan and Chris Topping as well as ex-referee and City fan Graham Bradbury. The tours starting point will be the Players Entrance in the main car park.

York City Communications Director Sophie McGill said, We hope many of our supporters and people in the area will visit our Open Day on Sunday. It should be a great day out for all the family and a unique opportunity for football enthusiasts to get a glimpse behind the scenes at Bootham Crescent and meet the players. Last year, over the course of the day, we had 3000-4000 visitors and we hope this years event will be equally successful

McGill added, Admission is free, but any money raised on the day from the various activities and attractions on offer will help to boost Football Club funds as we prepare for the season ahead.
