Future Stars in 6-a-side Play-off

Over 100 youngsters face off for the chance to play at Bootham Crescent

A 6-a-side football competition between the official YCFC Feeder Clubs was held
at the club's training ground on Sunday 2nd May 2004. There were two competitions, with clubs fielding teams at under 9 and under 10 level. Organisers of the competition hoped it would help cement a good working relationship with the Feeder Clubs and possibly also provide a Talent Spotting exercise for the YCFC Youth Coaches.

Pocklington came out on top in the younger age group, followed by runners up Rawcliffe. Rawcliffe were late entrants to the competition after Poppleton and Hamilton Panthers pulled out due to other play-off commitments. In the under 10s, Hamilton Panthers won the day, with Copmanthorpe in 2nd place.

These four finalists will now go on to finals at Bootham Crescent, with the match-ups taking place as a curtain raiser to a City first team game. An excellent opportunity for the youngsters. All the players who took part in the competition received a certificate signed by City youth coach Paul Stancliffe
