Fans' Club Meeting
Fans' Club Meeting

AGM & Fans' Forum on 17th December

Next week, York City fans will have another opportunity to hear first-hand about the ongoing work of their Football Club and their Supporters Trust delivering the Community Vision. A Community Vision that is threatened by the plans of BCH and Persimmon to oust the Club from its Bootham Crescent home.

On Wednesday 17th December, Citys Trust will be holding its AGM at the Grand Opera House in York. The Trusts AGM will be immediately followed by a Football Club Fans Forum, when City fans will have the opportunity to quiz Citys new Board of Directors and Player-Manager Chris Brass about everything York City.

The Trusts AGM kicks-off at 7:30 (doors open from 7pm). The meeting is open to all 2,000 Trust members and anyone else wishing to attend can join the Trust on the night, for annual membership of 10. Trust members are requested to bring along their Trust membership card if possible.

The AGM will cover the work and role of the Trust during a momentous 2003 when it became the owner of the Football Club. The Trusts Accounts and resolutions will also be presented and the results of the election to the Trust Board will be announced. There were seven candidates, including existing Trust and Club Board member Sophie McGill, standing for four Trust Board positions. Voting for the Trust Board elections closed on 11th December.

After the Trusts AGM, there is a Fans Forum at which the Football Club Board and Player-Manager Chris Brass will be on-stage to answer any questions from City fans. The entire event is expected to close by around 10pm.

Trust Chairman Richard Snowball commented:
This year, through the Trust, York City fans have worked wonders to save their football club. The AGM is an opportunity to review those achievements and consider the serious challenges that still face us.

Snowball added:
It is hoped that as many City fans as possible will take the opportunity to attend what promises to be a very interesting evening on 17th December. And all for free!.

To coincide with the AGM, this week, Citys Trust has distributed to all of its members and several other people and bodies in the city and within the football community its annual review publication entitled York Cityat the heart of the community. The colour publication provides a review of the work and role of Citys Trust and over 30 personnel contributions from City fans and other commentators within the Game.

Further copies of York Cityat the heart of the community will be available to purchase on the evening of 17th December and anyone attending the event will be able to make a voluntary contribution to assist the Trusts work to keep York City at the heart of the community.
