Voting for YOUR Trust Board commences
Voting for YOUR Trust Board commences

Elction process cranks up a gear

Message to Trust Members from the Election Working Group

This week, democracy at York City Supporters Trust reaches another milestone. The voting stage of the 2003 Trust Board Elections has arrived. Theres almost 2,000 Trust members who should be receiving their election voting forms and notice of the AGM through the post.

Seven candidates are standing for four places on YOUR Trust Board. Every Trust member (as of 30th September) can vote for up to four candidates. The four candidates with the most votes will be elected to YOUR Trust Board. They will help continue the work of delivering the Community Vision for the new York City Football Club and helping the Club to continue to have a decent home in the city.

To vote for YOUR choice of candidates, simply place a cross in the appropriate boxes and return the form in the pre-paid envelope to the Electoral Reform Services before the 11th December.

The Trust Board results will be announced at the AGM to be held at the Grand Opera House on Wednesday 17th of December. Details of the AGM agenda are being sent out with the voting papers

On behalf of the Trusts EWG, Stan Collins appeals
At York weve got probably the best supported Trust in the country. We hope that as many as possible of the Trusts 2,000 members use their vote to once again demonstrate that support.

At last years inaugural Trust Board elections, 65% of members voted. Before 11th December, please use YOUR vote to support the candidates you want for YOUR Trust Board.

At the AGM, YOUR Trust requires approval for the modification of three of the Trust Rules. These relatively minor proposed rule changes are detailed in the AGM letter and have to be approved by two thirds of those attending the AGM, either in person or by proxy. A full copy of YOUR Trust Rules can be found on the website on or on request. Copies of the Trusts Audited Accounts can be obtained similarly.

Unfortunately democracy does not come cheap and even with some of the cost cutting endeavors undertaken by many members of YOUR Trust, the costs associated with the AGM and election process are significant. Whilst there will be no charge to members to enter the AGM, we hope that many members will support the fundraising initiatives on that night and there is also the opportunity for people to contribute before the event.

Yorks famous fundraising Bucketeers will again be in action before and after the Swansea match on November 29th November to receive any donations (small or large) that people wish to contribute to help support the work and role of the Trust.

Also available on 29th November - free of charge to all Trust members, 3 each to non-members is a 24-page colour brochure York Cityat the Heart of the Community. This chronicles the events, obstacles and achievements of YOUR TRUST during the last 20 months or so. We would be grateful if as many members as possible can collect a copy on that day. Any Trust Member unable to collect a copy will receive a copy in the post in December.
