Race Night proceeds donated to Club

More fundraising needed

After the Trusts Rescue Package to Save City was completed, the hard task of turning around the Clubs finances began. After years of irresponsible excessive spending by previous regimes, the new Club Board have been working hard to control costs and boost income.

Particularly in this first season, we continue to carry the financial burden of some of those past commitments. It was always important for the fans and community to continue to support the Club financially through various means, including fundraising. To that end, the fundraising efforts of the Trust and various other supporter groups have continued and following last weeks Cup exit, those fundraising efforts will be stepped-up a gear.

One recent event was the Race Night held at Citys Social Club (which is available to hire for private events!). Around 100 people enjoyed a superb nights entertainment. At the same time, around 700 was raised. Massive thanks go to all those who helped organise the event and those who supported it in whatever way. At the Doncaster game, the Trust presented a cheque to pass on the proceeds of that event to the Football Club, to help support the running costs of our Community Club.

Please can anyone out there who has fundraising ideas get in touch with the Trust (Kirsten Gillies, email on . However, itts not just ideas that the Trust and the Club are looking for, its the dedication and commitment to turn an idea into reality and make things happen. If youre prepared to do some fundraising for the Trust/Club, please get on and do it, and the Trust will provide support if you ask.

Another couple of appeals for ways in which people can help include:
- The upcoming Trust/Club event is the Dinner & Dance on Saturday 29th November at the Voltigeur Suite, York Race Course. Tickets available at 27.50 individually or in tables of ten from Kirsten Gillies or at the Club Shop. Please support this event.
- Today sees the launch of the York City Credit Card in partnership with MBNA. This initiative could generate a great deal of income for the Club, so please apply for yours as soon as possible.
