Seven Nominations for Trust Board Elections
Seven Nominations for Trust Board Elections

7 nominations for 4 Trust Board places

The Trusts Election Working Group has received seven nominations for the Trust Board elections by the close date.

Trust Secretary Stan Collins commented:

Nominations have now closed and we now move towards the voting phase. Were hoping for a good turnout of voters to put in place four people to join the Trust Board.

In accordance with the Election Rules Policy, the EWG will now complete the review of the nomination forms before forwarding details to the independent organisation, Electoral Reform Services, who in turn will prepare and then distribute the Election Pack.

The Election Pack will contain each candidates election statement and the voting form for members to complete and return. The Election Packs are expected to be posted to members by mid-November, together with notification of AGM details and the Trusts Annual Review, titled York the Heart of the Community.

The nominations are as follows:
- Michael Grant
- Ian Hey
- Sophie McGill
- Frank Ormston
- Steve Ovenden
- Paul Rawnsley
- Peter Rookes

1,955 members of the Trust (members as at 30 September 2003) will have the opportunity to vote for up to four candidates to fill four positions on the Trust Board. Voting will be by postal ballot only and the results will be announced on the evening of Wednesday 17th December at the Trusts AGM to be held at the Grand Opera House in York.

The EWG comprises a number of volunteers from the membership, independent of the Trust Board Members and the candidates. It has a role to oversee the conduct of the election and is also assisting with other aspects in relation to the AGM on 17th December 2003.
