Trust releases its own Accounts

Citys Supporters Trust has released its inaugural Audited Accounts for the period during which it completed the Rescue Package to save York City.

Click on the link (below) to download a full copy.

The Accounts show that between January 2002 and June 2003, the Trust raised over 450,000 towards fulfilling its objectives. Add to that the 50,000 money that was contributed direct into the Football Club as part of the Trusts Rescue Package, and it shows that the Trust did reach the 1/2 million target that many people had thought was beyond it. A remarkable effort by City supporters.
Of course, having inherited the financial mess of previous regimes, the new Club Board is now working to turnaround the finances and run the Club in a financially responsible way.
The Trusts first financial period ran from the date the Trust was formed (in January 2002) through to 30 June 2003.

Financial highlights include:
- The Trust received monies of 455,826, including 176,000 from the loan notes scheme, 60,000 from bucket collections and over 150,000 from donations and other fundraising;

- The Trust had out-goings (including commitments) of 451,209, including 126,000 contributed towards the survival of the old club whilst the Rescue Package was being completed, 212,000 invested in the new York City company, 62,000 donated to the new York City company and 49,000 of other expenditure;

- There was a deficit for the period of 5,110, being the excess of expenditure over income (please note that this is not the same as cashflow)

- At 30 June 2003 the Trust held 14,408 cash at bank and in hand.

A full copy of the Trusts Accounts are available from the Trusts website at www.ycst.org.uk or on request in writing to the Trust (NB: We suggest a small donation of 2 or more to help cover the copying and postage costs).

Details of the Accounts will also be included in the Trusts Annual Review, a publication to be distributed to all Members ahead of the AGM.

The Trust is incorporated with limited liability under the Industrial & Provident Societies Acts 1965 to 1978 and was registered with the Registrar of Friendly Societies on 30 January 2002 (set up in record time from the date of the first public meeting to approve the idea of a Trust for York City).

The Accounts for the period to 30 June 2003 were approved on behalf of the Trust Board book-keeping carried out by Terry Herbert; Accounts compiled and prepared by Peter Rookes - and signed by the Independent Auditors (York-based Robinson & Co.) on 18 October 2003.
