Looking back to when the Trust launched campaign to help protect BC and City's future

A year ago, the Trust called upon the people of the York to act to help protect the future of York City Football Club. This encouraged people to write to the Council to support the continuance of football at Bootham Crescent.

This was not just based on emotion and sentiment, but also hard business reasons. It was pointed out that unless a better facility than BC was to be provided, the future of York City as a Football League club would be put in doubt.

Encouraged by the Trust, the community has submitted more objections to Persimmon's application to replace BC with a housing estate than any other planning application in the history of York.

The Trust produced an extensive Newsletter at the time, explaining the background, the process, the Trust's own comments about the planning application and how other people could submit their own comments.
